Job Summary:
The Structured Cabling Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of structured cabling systems in commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cabling infrastructure, a passion for technology, and a dedication to quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics.
- Perform cable pulling, routing, and securing in commercial environments.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of all cabling installations.
- Troubleshoot and repair cabling issues as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist with installing and configuring network hardware, including Ubiquiti UniFi equipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling or a related field.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding cabling requirements.
- Experience with cable testing tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards and best practices for cabling.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as BICSI Installer, RCDD, or similar are a plus.
- Familiarity with door access, security systems, and VOIP is an advantage.
- Experience working exclusively in commercial environments.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary range: $45,000-$65,000 per year, based on experience and certifications.
